In a bid to foster inclusive governance and sustainable policy development, the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has commenced a series of stakeholder engagements aimed at revitalizing the education sector.
Marking the first phase of this initiative, the Ministry on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, hosted a strategic consultative session with a cross-section of education stakeholders, including serving and retired principals, classroom teachers, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWASRRA), the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Held in Ilorin, the interactive session created a platform for open dialogue on pressing issues affecting the sector, and allowed for the sharing of practical recommendations aimed at shaping sustainable reforms under the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Speaking at the session, officials of the Ministry emphasized that the consultation process is designed to be broad-based and participatory, with subsequent phases to involve additional stakeholders in the coming weeks.
“This initiative aligns with our commitment to evidence-informed policymaking and systemic transformation. We believe that listening to those at the heart of our education system, teachers, administrators, and other frontline actors will enable us to co-create policies that are both effective and enduring,” a senior official noted.
The engagement is part of wider reform efforts by the state government to strengthen education delivery, improve outcomes, and ensure the system is responsive to the current and future needs of learners across the state.
