The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has clarified why some candidates in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are seeing a “No Result Yet” message when checking their results.
In a statement issued by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB explained that the affected candidates are those considered underage, whose results have not been released.
According to the Board, candidates who fall below the approved age requirement will continue to receive the “No Result Yet” notification when attempting to access their scores.
JAMB reiterated that, in line with its regulations, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026 are eligible to sit for the UTME.
However, the Board noted that exceptions exist for academically outstanding candidates. Such candidates may be considered under a special category if they meet strict performance criteria.
To qualify under this provision, underage candidates must score at least 320 in the UTME and also achieve a minimum of 80 percent in subsequent screening stages.
The Board stated that this arrangement was agreed upon with parents of underage candidates prior to the examination.
It added that only candidates who meet the high-performance threshold will be shortlisted for further assessment, after which they may be considered for admission under the exceptional category.
JAMB emphasised that, for now, the results of all underage candidates remain withheld pending the outcome of this process.
