The Kwara State Government has extended an official invitation to a rising Nigerian entrepreneur, Mr. Emmanuel Aanu Ajayi, to speak at the closing ceremony of a three-day capacity building training designed for student entrepreneurs across the state.
The invitation, conveyed through the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, highlights the government’s continued effort to equip young people with practical business knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive economy.
The training programme, which brings together students from various tertiary institutions in Kwara State, is focused on strengthening entrepreneurial capacity through hands-on learning, business management strategies, and access to growth opportunities.
Mr. Ajayi, who is the Chief Executive Officer of SUNPOD, is expected to deliver a goodwill message and share his personal entrepreneurial journey, offering insights into how innovation, determination, and consistency can transform ideas into viable enterprises.
In the official letter signed by Salami Wasiu Onidugbé, the government described Ajayi’s success story as a powerful example of what young entrepreneurs can achieve when given the right support and opportunities.
The letter also noted that his emergence as a beneficiary and winner of the Kwara State Entrepreneurship Expo makes him well-positioned to inspire participants and encourage them to pursue excellence in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
According to the organisers, the programme is strategically designed to expose participants to real-world business realities, equipping them with the skills required to build sustainable ventures and access funding opportunities.
The closing ceremony is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at House 12 Workplace and Lifestyle, Onikanga Road, G.R.A Ilorin, Kwara State.
Mr. Ajayi is expected to engage participants by sharing lessons from building SUNPOD, an innovation-driven venture, while also addressing key themes such as resilience, creativity, and the importance of leveraging available opportunities.
Speaking ahead of the event, sources close to the programme revealed that the organisers are optimistic that his testimony and practical insights will motivate participants to take bold steps in their entrepreneurial journeys.
The initiative reflects a broader commitment by the Kwara State Government to promote youth empowerment and entrepreneurship as critical tools for economic development and job creation.
Observers say programmes like this are increasingly important in Nigeria’s evolving education landscape, where students are being encouraged to complement academic learning with entrepreneurial skills.
As anticipation builds ahead of the event, stakeholders believe the engagement will not only inspire participants but also strengthen the culture of innovation among students in Kwara State.
With young entrepreneurs set to gather in Ilorin, the event is expected to serve as both a learning platform and a springboard for the next generation of business leaders in the state.
