The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has unveiled a new digital portal aimed at transforming academic and administrative processes within the institution.
The newly introduced platform, now accessible via https://eportal2.oauife.edu.ng, is expected to significantly improve service delivery for both students and staff by providing a faster, more reliable, and user-friendly interface.
According to the university, the portal integrates several key functions into a single system, allowing users to carry out course registration, pay school fees, access academic records, and perform other essential academic activities with ease.

The development comes as part of OAU’s broader push to modernize its digital infrastructure and address longstanding technical issues associated with the previous portal. Users had previously reported challenges such as slow response times, limited accessibility, and system disruptions during peak periods.
With the new system in place, the university says those issues have been largely resolved, as the platform is designed to handle higher traffic volumes while offering improved navigation and functionality.
Students and staff have been strongly advised to begin migrating to the new portal immediately and take time to familiarize themselves with its updated features to avoid disruptions in their academic activities.
To ensure a smooth transition, the university’s ICT unit has put support structures in place to assist users who may encounter difficulties while navigating the new system.
Some students who reacted to the development described it as a “welcome upgrade,” noting that a more stable and efficient portal would reduce the stress often associated with registration and payments.
University officials, however, emphasized that full cooperation from users will be critical to the success of the transition, urging all stakeholders to comply with the migration directive.
The launch of the new portal marks a significant milestone in OAU’s ongoing efforts to embrace digital solutions and improve operational efficiency across its academic environment.
As institutions across Nigeria continue to invest in technology-driven systems, OAU’s latest move signals a growing shift toward more responsive and student-centered digital services in higher education.
