The Federal University of Technology Akure has announced an open call for applications for its 2026/2027 Erasmus Staff Mobility Programme under the KA171 CEIA3 Consortium, offering academic staff in agriculture-related disciplines the opportunity to participate in an international training week in Spain.
The programme, coordinated through the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, is part of a five-university agrifood excellence consortium designed to enhance academic collaboration, research exposure, and staff capacity development across participating institutions in Europe.
According to the call, the mobility exercise is scheduled to take place from September 2026, with participating universities in Spain including the University of Almería, University of Cádiz, University of Córdoba, University of Huelva, and University of Jaén.
The initiative is open to only one candidate from FUTA, specifically senior academic staff at the rank of Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor within the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology.

Applicants are required to be medically fit, possess a valid international passport with at least nine months’ validity from September 2026, and meet other eligibility conditions outlined in the call document.
A key requirement also states that interested candidates must obtain a prior invitation letter from any of the participating consortium universities before they can be considered for the mobility award.
The programme coordinator for the Erasmus KA171 CEIA3 Consortium FUTA initiative, Prof. J. C. Onyekwelu, noted that applicants are expected to submit three hard copies of their application, alongside a CV and passport data page, to the Department of Forestry and Wood Technology, FUTA.
The application is to be addressed to the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Federal University of Technology Akure, P.M.B. 704, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, with further enquiries directed to the provided contact line.
Officials also confirmed that the deadline for submission is May 15, 2026, urging eligible staff to comply strictly with the requirements and timelines to avoid disqualification.
The Erasmus Staff Training Week is expected to expose participants to advanced agricultural practices, international research collaborations, and innovative teaching methodologies within the agrifood sector.
