The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has inaugurated chairmen and members of governing boards across key agencies under the Federal Ministry of Education, in a move aimed at strengthening oversight and accelerating reforms in the sector.
The inauguration also covered principal officers of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Bama and the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic N’Yak Shendam, alongside the reaffirmation of the reappointment of chief executive officers of education parastatals.
Alausa said the exercise reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to improving governance structures within the education system and driving ongoing transformation efforts.
He noted that the appointments align with broader reform priorities under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly within the framework of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The minister charged the newly inaugurated officials to prioritise accountability, collaboration, and service in the discharge of their duties, stressing that leadership in the education sector requires a results-driven approach.
He emphasised the need to build a system that guarantees access to quality and equitable education for all Nigerian children, regardless of background or location.
According to him, ongoing reforms anchored on the NESRI six-point agenda will depend largely on the commitment of institutional leaders to effective implementation.
Alausa congratulated the appointees and urged them to deliver impactful leadership that will strengthen public confidence in Nigeria’s education system.
