The strategic partnership between Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa (AOPE), and the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) of the has achieved a significant milestone with the successful conduct of its maiden matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students.
The historic event formally welcomed the pioneer cohort of students into the FUOYE Institute of Distance Learning programme hosted at AOPE, marking a new chapter in the institution’s commitment to expanding access to quality university education through innovative and flexible learning opportunities.
The ceremony attracted top officials of the Polytechnic, academic leaders, administrators, parents, and well-wishers who gathered to witness the official induction of the students into the university community.
Among dignitaries present were the Rector of AOPE, ; Deputy Rector, ; Registrar, ; Bursar, ; Acting Polytechnic Librarian, ; Director of Works and Services, , alongside deans, heads of departments, and other principal officers of the institution.
In his address, Professor Adedokun congratulated the matriculating students on securing admission into the programme and urged them to approach their studies with dedication, discipline, and a commitment to excellence.
“This matriculation ceremony is not only a celebration of your admission but also the beginning of a journey that will shape your future. You must remain focused, disciplined, and committed to your academic goals. The institution will not tolerate any form of misconduct, and we expect every student to uphold the values of integrity, excellence, and good character,” he said.
The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation oath, which formally inducted the students into the FUOYE Institute of Distance Learning programme and signified their acceptance of the rights, responsibilities, and regulations governing their academic pursuits.
Speaking at the event, several officials described the partnership between AOPE and FUOYE as a strategic initiative designed to bridge educational gaps and provide more Nigerians with access to university education regardless of geographical or professional limitations.
Delivering the closing remarks, Mrs. Akintunde expressed appreciation to parents, guardians, and guests for their support and confidence in the programme. She encouraged the newly admitted students to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the distance learning platform to achieve their academic aspirations.
