Nursing and Midwifery students of Atiba University, Oyo State, have recorded an impressive performance in the recently concluded Midwifery Council Examination held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In a statement issued by the university, the institution achieved an overall pass rate of 84.38 percent, reinforcing its growing reputation as a centre of academic and professional excellence in healthcare education.
According to the statement, 27 out of 32 candidates presented by the university passed all three papers at once, qualifying with distinction. Three students had references in Paper 1, while two recorded references in Paper 2.
The university assured that it remains committed to supporting the five students who will be re-sitting their papers, pledging renewed mentorship and guidance to help them succeed.
Founder and President of the university, Dr James Adesokan Ojebode, commended the students for their determination and the faculty for their unwavering dedication to excellence.
“This performance brings immense pride and validates our mission to produce globally competitive graduates, grounded in knowledge, skill, and character,” he said. “I congratulate our students, faculty, and all stakeholders who contributed to this remarkable achievement.”
Acting Registrar of the institution, Mrs Oyepeju Ayomide Ogunseye, described the results as a testament to the university’s academic rigor and the dedication of its staff.
“These results reflect the hard work of our students and the painstaking preparation by our faculty. Midwifery is a noble and demanding profession, and this strong performance shows our students are ready to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector,” she said.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Sunday Olawale Okeniyi, also congratulated the successful candidates and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence.
“We are encouraged by this outcome. As an institution, we remain focused on providing the academic support, enabling environment, and infrastructure necessary for our students to thrive. This achievement is a validation of our sustained investment in quality teaching and professional development,” he said.
