Foluke Adeboye has been appointed Chancellor of Caleb University Imota, Lagos, days after receiving an honorary Doctor of Humanity degree at the institution’s 15th convocation ceremony.
Adeboye, wife of Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was formally announced as the university’s ceremonial head in a statement issued by its Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Olawale Adekoya.
As Chancellor, she will preside over convocations, confer degrees and serve as the institution’s symbolic leader during major academic events.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olalekan Asikhia, described the development as a milestone in the university’s growth, noting that her conferment and subsequent appointment represent what he termed a blend of academic distinction and moral leadership within university governance.
According to him, Adeboye’s decades of experience in faith-based leadership, counselling and mentorship position her as a stabilising influence capable of reinforcing the institution’s values and long-term vision.
Registrar Mayokun Olumeru also characterised the new Chancellor as a strong advocate of ethical standards and character development, adding that the university community considers her appointment an honour.
Adeboye is widely known for her involvement in youth development initiatives, family life programmes and educational support activities within and beyond the RCCG.
Her appointment places her at the helm of ceremonial leadership at Caleb University as it continues to expand its academic and institutional profile.
