The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), has commenced its 2026 Tech Fair Week, a three-day event designed to promote innovation, digital skills, and entrepreneurship among students.
The programme, organised by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, is taking place from April 14 to April 16 across the university’s Oto/Ijanikin and Epe campuses.
Held at Oluremi Tinubu Hall in Oto/Ijanikin, with parallel activities at the Multipurpose Hall in Epe, the fair provides a platform for students to showcase practical solutions and creative projects beyond classroom learning.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), M. A. Daodu, emphasised the importance of innovation and urged students to develop ideas that can address real-world challenges.
In her remarks, the Director of DESD, Bolanle Omotoke Olaleye, said the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to practical and solution-driven education, adding that it aims to produce graduates who are job creators rather than job seekers.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Raji Ogunlende, commended the initiative, encouraging students to embrace creativity and innovation as tools for economic growth.
Traditional rulers, including Momodu Afolabi Asafa and Aina Josiah Olanrewaju Ilemobade Kuyamiku, also lauded the university for equipping students with entrepreneurial skills and pledged continued support for its programmes.
The Tech Fair brings together students, university management, host communities, and other stakeholders, reinforcing LASUED’s focus on fostering innovation and enterprise development.
