The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has announced fresh recruitment into several positions, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply across key roles within the examination body.
In a public notice released Tuesday, the council listed vacancies including Examinations Officers in General Duties, Accounts, and Information and Communication Technology, as well as Confidential Secretaries and Assistant Examinations Officers across various specialisations.
According to the council, applicants for senior roles are required to possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma, while assistant-level positions are open to candidates with National Diploma or Nigeria Certificate in Education qualifications. All applicants must also present valid National Youth Service Corps certification where applicable and demonstrate computer literacy.

The council added that candidates must have at least five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent.
Applicants are also required to be not more than 40 years old at the time of application, while successful candidates will benefit from what the council described as a competitive remuneration package and structured career development.
Interested candidates are to submit their applications through the council’s official recruitment portal, with the deadline set for May 25, 2026.
The council noted that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the recruitment process.
